As I mentioned earlier on getting your used forklift truck delivered is an additional cost and can range from about £120.00 to a lot more.  Imagine you are buying a used forklift truck from a supplier in Manchester and you are based in Hull.  That is a long drive and a lot of time when you are restricted to 56 MPH.  You may be able to negotiate it as part of the deal and get the supplier to throw it in.  Often a forklift truck dealer will mark up the cost of transport as a way of recovering some of their costs.

 

When the used forklift truck is being delivered remember to keep in touch with the dealer because you want to be on hand to receive it.  Also, you will need your forklift truck operator on hand to give that first run around your premises to make sure all is well.  On top of that, you want to make sure the way is clear for the forklift truck delivery driver to access your property.  If they cannot drop off because your access is blocked with another delivery, they will charge you standing time.  Standing time will be a minimum of an hourly rate even if they are held up for 20 minutes.
